Bymond began in 2014 in Nampodong — the dense, fast-moving heart of old Busan. For twelve years, Director Byul (별) refined her Recovery Magic technique on hair damaged by Korea's harsh humidity and chemical-heavy salon culture. Word spread. Foreign travelers visiting Busan started seeking her out — first Japanese tourists, then Westerners through K-fashion Instagram circles, then long-stay expats who'd given up on local Busan salons.
By 2025, the Nampodong location had a problem: the foreign guests who flew to Busan specifically for the salon wanted somewhere they could relax. Nampodong is many things — culturally rich, gastronomically exciting — but it isn't restful. The clients we'd built our business around wanted hair, then beach, then dinner with a view. So in 2026, we moved.
The new Gwangalli location is two blocks from Gwangalli Beach (광안리해수욕장) — a 5-minute walk from the boardwalk and the famous Gwangan Bridge view. Bymond expanded from a one-person operation to three specialist designers , each owning specific service categories. The English-friendly philosophy was never a marketing decision — about 60% of our regulars are foreign visitors, so multilingual support became part of daily operations.
What we won't do is overpromise. Bymond is not the biggest salon in Busan. We're not the cheapest. We're three specialists who care deeply about a craft, working in a quiet space two blocks from a beautiful beach. Backed by that craft and expertise, we're able to take on every kind of hair service for the clients who visit us. Delivering only the honest, achievable results we can stand behind — that's the philosophy Bymond holds to.
